About Dar-e-Zahra
Welcome to Dar-e-Zahra, an Imambargah (Shia religious center) of Islamic belief located at 1907 Highway 150, Bessemer, AL, 35022. Dar-e-Zahra translates to "The Door of Syeda Zahra (SA)". It is named after the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), Syeda Fatima Al-Zahra (SA), who held a deeply meaningful role in Islam as a shining example of virtue and dedication. Her crucial contribution in nurturing not only her sons Hassan (AS) and Hussain (AS), but also her daughters Syeda Zainab (SA) and Syeda Umm Kulthum (SA), to embody the qualities of sacrifice, strength, and unwavering commitment to Islam, stands as a fundamental pillar of Islamic history. The enduring impact of their resolute devotion continues to motivate generations, underscoring the profound influence of Fatima Al-Zahra's (SA) guidance and the timeless values of selflessness and faith embedded within Islam.

Our Story
Our organization, Dar-e-Zahra, stands as an Islamic Shia Center, an Imambargah since August 14, 2020, Dhu'l Hijjah 24, 1441 AH (may Maula (as) give ajar to the founders, Br. Jawed H. Meharally and Sis. Fatema M. Meharally). Embracing the Ithna Ashari Shia tradition, our congregation holds firm to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) and his Ahlul Bayt (AS).

In the spirit of unity and devotion, Dar-e-Zahra thrives, offering a welcoming embrace to all. Just as Fatima Al-Zahra's (SA) legacy continues to inspire, we journey forward with a shared commitment to our faith and heritage.

In line with this commitment, we come together every Thursday for recitations of the "Hadith-e-Kisa" and "Dua-e-Kumayl", and we orchestrate programs that pay tribute to Ahlul-Bayt (AS). Additionally, we hold Majalis (solemn gatherings) to honor the shahadat of Masoomeen (AS) and host Jashans (joyous gatherings) to celebrate Eids and the births of Masoomeen (AS). Services are primarily held in Urdu and English. However, Arabic is used for many prayers.

Furthermore, we offer an Islamic Sunday School program designed to engage and educate our youth. Enrollees delve into diverse subjects including Islamic History, Aqaed (Beliefs), Fiqh (Islamic laws), and Akhlaq (Manners). Moreover, students benefit from dedicated Qur'anic Arabic lessons. Our mission is rooted in equipping upcoming generations, not only for the practice of Azadari but also to cultivate their preparedness for the eventual reappearance of our revered 12th Imam (AS).
